Request deletion from Vitality Research LLC
Emmaus Way is provided by Vitality Research LLC under the Vitality Driven brand. You can request deletion of personal information you have sent to us without installing the app or signing in.
- Email [email protected] with the subject Emmaus Way data deletion request.
- Tell us what you want deleted: for example, a beta application, support correspondence, attachments, or study information you previously sent to support. If possible, send the request from the email address used for that correspondence and give its approximate date.
- We will review the request and may ask for limited information to verify that it concerns your data. We will explain what can be deleted, any information that must be kept, and any further steps needed.
Do not include passwords, identity documents, or copies of private study notes in your initial request. If you cannot use the email button, compose a message manually to [email protected].
What we can delete
We can review and delete personal information in records we control, including your beta application, email address and other contact details, optional application comments, support messages, and attachments or other information you sent to us, subject to the retention exceptions below. Withdrawing a beta application or ending beta participation can be included in the same request.
The current Android beta (version 0.1.0, version code 1) uses guest access and simulated sign-in. It does not create an online Emmaus Way account or provide cloud synchronization, so there is no online Emmaus Way account to delete. The beta application website does not maintain a separate applicant database.
Delete study information on your Android device
Notes, bookmarks, retained conflicting note versions, text-size preferences, and demo or guest session information are stored locally in the current beta. We cannot erase this local information remotely through an email request. Do not send us your study backup or private notes merely to request removal of data stored only on your device.
- You can delete individual active notes and bookmarks in the app.
- To remove this installation’s local app data, open Android Settings → Apps → Emmaus Way → Storage (sometimes labeled Storage & cache), then choose Clear storage or Clear data and confirm. Labels vary by device. This removes local study material and preferences; retain a backup first only if you want to keep a copy.
- Logging out removes session information, not your study material. There is no in-app erase-all feature or separate deletion control for retained conflicting note versions.
Shared files, exports, and backups
Delete exported study backups, temporary import/export files, shared copies, and copies held by other apps or storage services separately using those services’ controls. Clearing Emmaus Way’s local app data does not remove those external copies.
Android backup is enabled. Depending on device settings and backup rules, eligible data may be backed up and restored. Review your device or backup provider’s controls for removing existing backups; restoring a backup may restore eligible information.
Information kept and retention periods
Our retention policy calls for deleting support correspondence within 90 days after resolution, accepted beta applications within 90 days after participation ends, and declined or withdrawn applications within 90 days after the decision or withdrawal. These are routine retention deadlines, not a requirement to wait 90 days before requesting deletion.
We are implementing manual tracking for these deadlines. There is no automatic 90-day deletion process. We review deletion requests individually and respond as promptly as practicable, subject to applicable requirements.
Legal obligations or ongoing disputes may require us to keep relevant information longer. When this affects your request, we will explain the reason and the applicable retention period or criteria, where permitted.
Email delivery records, deleted-message recovery copies, and provider backups follow separate provider schedules. Deleting a message from our active mailbox does not immediately erase every provider-held copy. We have not verified a single retention period covering all such copies and will explain relevant limits when handling your request.
Scripture-download and hosting records
Opening the reader, changing books, or opening certain study views can automatically download original-language resources. Selecting an optional translation can also initiate a download. These requests go to an Emmaus Way website hosted through ChatGPT Sites, with Cloudflare infrastructure, and transmit your public IP address, requested book or translation, and ordinary connection information. Requested resources may reveal religious reading interests.
The inspected download pathways do not transmit notes, bookmarks, or Bible questions. Clearing local app data does not delete hosting-provider logs. We may not be able to identify or erase every provider-held connection record ourselves. You may contact support to request a review; we will explain what records we can identify and any provider assistance or retention limits involved.
