Emmaus Way is provided by Vitality Research LLC under the Vitality Driven brand.
This policy describes Android version 0.1.0, version code 1. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
This beta offers guest access and simulated sign-in. It does not create an online Emmaus Way account or provide cloud synchronization.
Notes, bookmarks, retained conflicting note versions, text-size preferences, and demo or guest session information are stored locally. The app does not provide a separate encrypted vault.
Searches and the current Bible question feature run locally. Bible questions receive prepared responses rather than responses from a live AI service.
SCRIPTURE DOWNLOADS
Opening the reader, changing books, or opening certain study views can automatically download original-language resources. Selecting an optional translation can also initiate a download.
These resources come from an Emmaus Way website hosted through ChatGPT Sites, with Cloudflare infrastructure. Requests transmit your public IP address, the requested book or translation, and ordinary connection information. Requested resources may reveal religious reading interests.
The inspected download pathways do not transmit your notes, bookmarks, or Bible questions. Hosting providers may process connection information for delivery, security, and service operation. Their practices are also described in:

SHARING AND BACKUPS
When you share notes or export study backups, information is transferred to the applications, recipients, or storage services you select. Their privacy practices apply to those copies.
Android backup is enabled. Depending on device settings and backup rules, eligible app data may be backed up and restored by operating-system services.
Imports and exports may create temporary local files. This beta does not automatically purge those files on a schedule.
REMOVING INFORMATION
You can delete individual active notes and bookmarks. Logging out removes session information, not your study material.
This beta has no in-app erase-all feature or separate deletion control for retained conflicting note versions. Android’s Clear storage or Clear data option removes this installation’s local app data.
Exported files, shared copies, and existing backups require separate removal. Restoring a backup may restore eligible information. Clearing local data does not remove hosting-provider logs.
Because simulated sign-in does not create an online account, there is no online Emmaus Way account to delete.
SUPPORT MESSAGES
If you contact support, we use your message and contact information to respond and investigate your request. Please send only information needed to explain the issue.
Our retention policy calls for deleting support messages within 90 days after resolution, unless a legal obligation or ongoing dispute requires longer retention. We are implementing manual tracking for these deadlines.
Provider logs, deleted-message recovery copies, and backups follow separate retention schedules. Removing information from our active mailbox does not immediately erase every provider-held copy.
EXTERNAL TESTIMONY LINKS
Testimony buttons open original posts on external platforms. Those platforms may require sign-in and apply their own privacy practices.
TEENAGERS AND CHILDREN
Emmaus Way is intended for teenagers and adults ages 13 and older, initially in the United States. It is not directed to children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
SECURITY AND UPDATES
Scripture downloads use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method guarantees complete security.
We will update this policy when relevant features or data practices change. Contact [email protected] with questions.
